In another section of the resort, a 29-meter-long (95-foot) freeform "quiet pool" features a sunbathing island. Adjacent are a 12-person spa tub and a picnic area with complimentary gas barbecue grills. The resort's frontage on the hotel zone's beach measures 61 meters (200 feet) and includes an offshore trampoline raft. Thatched roof palapas and umbrellas supply shade, and a roped-off section protects sunbathers from being solicited by beach vendors. For the first hour, use of boogie boards, kayaks, snorkeling gear, windsurfers, and pedal boats is complimentary. Independent operators offer rentals for personal watercraft, parasailing, and banana boating on the beach. An independent scuba diving instructor offers basic lessons in one of the resort's pools and advanced lessons and certification classes in the ocean (surcharges).
